Bullet XNA 2d

Hey are you guys planning on building a 2d branch?

It seems like a lot of XNA games would benefit from this.

Amazing thing in 3D physics is that you can ignore one of the axis (for example Z) and have a 2D physics, however you can ignore 2 axisand have 1D physics too :D
But if you want clear 2D physics you can have a look at Farseer Physics Engine that's also on codeplex.

no, you really can't just ignore one axis...

The engine needs to do 2 things. First, it must constrain all objects to a plane. Second, it must let the only rotate in one axis.

This can be done with joints/constraints in some engines, but that adds a lot of unnessisary complexity.

Farseer doesn't look to be on par with Bullet from what I can tell.

I can't promise but we will see what can we do in future... now our main target is to make the port work well, create some documentation/tutorials and clean the code :)
